But you will have to be very careful when you make it in the microwave as often the pudding turns out to be rubbery or dries up when it is made in the microwave. Try out this delightful recipe!

    • Step 1
Chop all the nuts finely and keep them aside. Also chop the raisins and black currants. Now take a bowl and add the candied peels and nuts in it. Pour in the brandy. Soak for 5-6 hours so that the nuts and fruits absorb the taste of the brandy. Now, to make this classic Christmas pudding, first take a large bowl. Now add the all purpose flour with salt, baking soda, nutmeg powder, and cinnamon powder. Mix well and sieve the mixture twice so that every ingredient mixes in evenly.
    • Step 2
Now take another bowl and add butter in it. Ensure that the butter is at room temperature. Beat the mixture well until the sugar is dissolved. At this point add the eggs and the vanilla essence. Beat well till the mixture is light and frothy.
    • Step 3
To this mixture, slowly add the flour spoon by spoon so that the flour mixes evenly and no lumps are formed. Keep stirring till the entire flour is mixed. At this point add the nuts and fruits soaked in brandy.
    • Step 4
Take a pudding tin, and grease it with butter. Pour the batter in it. Allow it cook in steam on low flame for one to two hours. The flame should be very low or the pudding might burn. You need to insert a skewer after an hour to check if the pudding is done. If it comes out clean, your pudding is ready.
    • Step 5
Switch off the flame and remove the pudding from the pudding tin. Allow it to cool slightly. Decorate it with cherries and holly. Serve with chocolate sauce or vanilla ice-cream or simply with a dollop of cream.
