Paneer Tikka are authentic Punjabi snacks that are prepared in the tandoor. A tikka is basically any vegetable, paneer or meat marinated in a highly flavourful seasoning and grilled to perfection.

Tikkas are authentic Punjabi snacks that are prepared in the tandoor. A tikka is basically any vegetable, paneer or meat marinated in a highly flavourful seasoning and grilled to perfection. 



Here large chunks of paneer have been marinated in tangy marinade made of curds, chaat masala, kasuri methi, ginger and garlic and then cooked in the oven . Paneer tikka can be eaten as is with some chutney or can be rolled into a rotis and served as a Punjabi roll.

Preparation Time:    Baking Time:  35 minutes   Baking Temperature:  200°C (400°F)   Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 20 tikkas


Ingredients

20 paneer (cottage cheese) cubes
1/2 cup thick curds (dahi)
1 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste

Method 
Combine the curds, ginger paste, garlic paste, chilli powder, dried fenugreek leaves, garam masala, coriander, chaat masala, besan, oil and salt in a deep bowl and mix well to prepare a marinade.

Add the paneer, mix gently and keep aside to marinate for 15 minutes.

Arrange the paneer pieces on the wire rack and place the wire rack on a baking tray and grill in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
